Parisot Choir Concerts in March

We have been without an internet connection for much of this week, so I’m posting this a bit late in the day. However, the Choeur de Parisot is giving two concerts over the next week under the baton of maestro Peter Nowfel. The programme ranges from Anon (very prolific composer) to Schutz, via Fauré, Gounod, Mozart, Rachmaninov and plenty of others.

Sunday 16^th March at 17h00 at la Chapelle des Pénitents Noirs in Villefranche-de-Rouergue.

Even if the programme doesn’t appeal, the chapelle is worth a visit. But dress warmly.

Saturday 22^nd March at 20h30 on our home turf in the church at Parisot.

Early arrival strongly advised to get a decent seat (or a seat at all, judging by previous events).

If you live in the area or are visiting, come along. There is no ticket price but (preferably generous) contributions are welcome, which go towards the running of the choir.

For the benefit of my fans, I am in the second row of the sopranos.

Wish I lived a bit closer. Break a leg! (Or ‘merde’ as they say around here!)

  Yes, what a pity you aren’t closer! But thanks for the wishes. I hadn’t heard the ‘merde’ variety of break a leg but am happy to take whatever’s offered. We did okay this afternoon and will no doubt do even better on our home territory next Sat. The chapel we sang in today is a real gem, about which I will post.

  Thanks, Deborah. It’s not easy to sing in a new environment but I think it went okay. I plan to post about the chapel we sang in, which is rather special.

Any concerts in April or May? We have been disappointed not to have been in France when your choir has concerts….

  There won’t be any concerts in April. However, there is one in May, under the aegis of an organ fete at Villeneuve-de-l’Aveyron. This will take place on Sunday 11 May probably at 3 pm in the church there. I don’t have any more details for the moment but will post them when I do. After that, we will do two concerts in June (Figeac and Parisot) but that is probably when you are not here. Will email you this as well.
